The Olema Collection

An hour north of San Francisco on Sir Francis Drake Drive you pass through elegant and stately villages from Larkspur to Fairfax, and then, suddenly, you run into the edge of the world. The town of Olema falls at the crossroads, a literal fault line that splits the world here in two — the modern from the lost.

Crossing this line, I step into a moment that has no time, and yet it is full of my fondest memories. Heading north from Bolinas, Point Reyes National Seashore represents a lifestyle in harmony with the land and sea, simple lifestyles that understand the best things in life are best kept secret. The split-rail fence line, weathered in the salt air, connects acres of elk preserves and century old dairy ranches along a desolate and hilly road to the furthest stop north at Piece Point Ranch. The landscape is an aesthetic unto itself, and one that I deeply admire.

I can’t think of a better inspiration for a few new pieces than the homes in and around Olema, CA. Full of guitars, beams, wood-burning ovens and bottles of jammy red wine. Enjoy life’s simplest journeys.
